Engraving is a genre of graphics in which the artistic image is obtained by reproducing after a plate on the surface of which the drawing was drawn or engraved, in depth or relief.
The personalization method by engraving involves digging, incising, perforating or obturating by various physical or chemical processes a usually flat surface in order to print and subsequently multiply an image.
In the case of engraving intended for printing, the engraving is done on a support called cliché, made of metal, wood, linoleum or other materials, which is the negative of the engraving. The printing ink is applied to it, and then a sheet of paper, to be passed through a printing press.
By applying pressure, the ink on the cliché is transferred to the sheet of paper. The resulting image is positive for engraving. This print obtained by the engraving technique represents a type of print.
In the case of stand-alone engraving, it aims to inscribe or decorate various promotional objects with figures or decorative motifs, logos or texts, and sometimes even photographs, such as photogravure, applied especially on metallic plastic.

Various materials can be engraved / cut: paper / cardboard, plastic (plexiglass, acrylic), wood, glass, ceramics, treated metal, aluminum, marble and granite, leather, textile, cork, sponge, etc.
Laser technology is used for customizing engraving of promotional objects or signage elements, as well as for precise cutting and cutting of various materials.
